Easter is almost here and that means it’s time to color Easter eggs! We had our first annual Eggs-travaganza at my friend Ben’s house this week. But before we made a mess in Miss Sunny’s kitchen, we went outside to check out Ben’s new castle. I even wore my princess skirt for the occasion – Ben is the prince and I am the princess. It’s an amazing new fort and swing set in his backyard. When you’re up in the tower you can see all the far away lands in the kingdom and when you ride down the slide you feel like you’re flying on a fire breathing dragon. Ben’s dog Landry was our trusty protector as we explored the new castle and tested the equipment. We’re going to have a lot of fun in this place!
Then we went inside to splash colorful staining dye all over Miss Sunny’s kitchen… I mean, to color Easter eggs. Ben and I had fun dropping the eggs into the little cups, cracking as many as we could in the process – opps. They turned out great in spite of our challenges. The important thing was that we tried. We gathered, we played, we talked, we screamed, we laughed, we cried, we created, we ate, we shared, we celebrated and we made wonderful memories with our friends. Now that’s what it’s all about!
We had another chance to get artsy when Grammy had us over to color eggs with my cousins at her house this afternoon. This time we did it outside – which was a good idea that we’ll remember for next year. Again, lots of cracked eggs, stained fingers, laughter and tears, but some beautiful creations still emerged. The plain white eggs were transformed into a thing of beauty. Raised from the cups of dye and given a spectacular new life for all to see. I can’t think of a better way to celebrate Easter!
Another Easter egg coloring party! This time at Grammy’s house with my cousins Ava and Hannah.
